This food joint gave its first franchise in 1952 which was opened in Salt Lake City, Utah. Product KFC has several outlets all over the world in the current market scenario. Even after so many years, this company in the product life cycle graph is one the second phase i.e. the growth phase. The sales of KFC have increased and the profits of it are increasing with time. Even after years of being famous in the market, it has not even reached the maturity period with the profits and sales just increasing without the input of minimum discounts and advertisements. Process The whole selling and distribution process of KFC is very simple and sorted kind of. The recipe of the fried chicken of the KFC is the secret of the trade and the whole salts and mixtures of it are just revealed to the leading people. The outlets are sent with everything prepared and they cook and sell the product. The company has a very good safety program as it has been over 87 years that the company has been established and there has not been a single case where the secret of this delicious fried chicken has been revealed. In the current scenario, almost every city of the world has one KFC outlet in them which is always filled with people enjoying the delicious fried chicken there. Supply Chain The supply chain of this food chain is a simple one. The cooks and chefs are the local people who are selected after scrutiny and a lot of check. The owners of the franchise have the right to choose the cooks and chefs. After this the outlets fix with the local dealers for fresh chicken which is approved by a person from the head office of the area belonging to the company that it is on compliance with the standards of the company or no. The secret recipe and the mix of all the recipes are sent as secrets to the people concerned who are given to the respective outlets. Utmost secrecy is involved. The people over the counters take the orders of the customers.
